I don't get it...Why doesn't the iPad have Flash?

Ok....So I was thinking about getting an iPad, but it doesn't have Flash! That's stupid. I'm not big into watching the news, so I thought I'd ask the experts :) You! Why doesn't it have flash? Does anyone know?

Flash violates Apple's terms of service, that is why it has not been allowed in iPhones and now iPads. Flash is basically a development environment of its own and if Apple permits flash, developers will be able to bypass the app store and run their flash apps on iPhone/iPads.
